 The US to award Pepsico India for saving more than 17 bn litres of water

The United States has named PepsiCo India for the 2019 Secretary of State's Award for Corporate Excellence (ACE). The award will be presented in a ceremony on 31 October 2019. 

The award recognizes the company's efforts to save more than 17 billion liters of water. The company saved water through community water programmes which positively impacted 60,000 community members. The award appreciates the company's sustainable operations for its sustainable farming initiative in India. 

The other recipients of the award are:

  • Chambers Federation in the Democratic Republic of the Congo
  • Procter and Gamble Asia Pacific in Singapore
  • Agilis Partners in Uganda

Award for Corporate Excellence (ACE) is established in 1999. The first recipient of the award is Xerox, Brazil and F.C. Schaffer & Associates, Ethiopia. The award recognizes US companies that promote and uphold high standards as responsible members of their communities where they do business.
