The admission to Ph.D. Programmes shall be on All India basis.
All fresh Admissions to Undergraduate, Masters’ and Diploma programmes will close on 13.08.2018 and Ph.D. admissions will close on 24.01.2019.
Eligibility : The minimum qualifications for admission to Ph.D. programme (other than in-service candidates and ICAR nominees) under the faculty shall be an OCPA of 7.00 or 70% marks or equivalent in M.Tech. and an OCPA of 5.50 or 55% marks or equivalent at Bachelor’s level as shown against respective discipline(s).
Stipends : The students enrolled for Ph.D. programme and not in receipt of any fellowship etc. shall be awarded a stipend of Rs.1000/- p.m. on fulfilment of prescribed conditions.
Online Mode : Applicants have to pay Rs.5320/- for each Entrance Test that includes the cost of downloaded form/ Prospectus
Offline Mode : Applicants have to pay Rs. 3820/- for each Entrance Test (Rs.500/- for additional option in MET-Agri. & MET-Home Science) in addition to cost of the Prospectus (Rs.2120/- at the Counter or Rs.2260/- by Post)
The Entrance Test fee should be deposited in Punjab National Bank, using Challan Form, available in the PAU Prospectus. The bank will return two parts of the Challan Form duly stamped with journal number. The candidate must retain the candidate’s copy of Challan Form and send the University copy of the Challan Form alongwith the duly filled Application Form to ‘The Registrar, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana – 141004’, so as to reach on or before the last date of receipt of application form.
Selection Procedure : Minimum percentage of marks required to be obtained in the Entrance Test to be called for Counselling/Interview are 20% (with negative marking) in MCQ & 20% in Subjective test individually.

Candidates can apply either Online or Offline.
The completed application form should reach ‘The Registrar, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana – 141 004’, on or before the last date of receipt of application form. The candidate should paste one latest passport size photograph on the application form and attach another passport size photograph with the application form.
Last date of Receipt of Application forms is 16/10/2018 (without late fees).
Last date of Receipt of Application forms is 23/10/2018 (with late fees of Rs. 1000/-).

The Punjab Agricultural University was established in 1962 to serve the state of erstwhile Punjab. On trifurcation of Punjab in November 1966, Haryana Agricultural University was carved out of PAU by an Act of Parliament in February 1970. Later, in July 1970, Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidalya was established.
