Field: Agriculture

Essential Qualification: M.Sc (Agriculture) in Agronomy/ Horticulture/Crop Physiology/Plant Physiology with B.Sc as prequalification

Desirable Qualification and Experience: Preference will be given to candidates working in the area of space technology applications with microwave/ hyper-spectral remote sensing

Equivalent degrees: M.Tech/PGD in Geoinformatics/M.Tech/PGD in Spatial Information Science /M.Tech/PGD in Geomatics

Eligibility: M.Sc degree should be in first class with an aggregate minimum of 65% (average of all semesters) or CGPA/CPI grading of 6.84 on a 10 scale or equivalent with 1st Class B.Sc as pre-qualification

Emolument & other Benefits: In addition, House Rent Allowance [HRA], Transport Allowance at the prescribed rates in force at the place of posting will be paid for those who are not availing Departmental Housing and Transport facility, respectively. The employees will be governed by the National Pension System (NPS). On employment in NESAC, other facilities are available such as medical facilities for self and dependents, limited housing facility for fresh entrants in lieu of HRA, Leave Travel Concession, Group Insurance, advance for construction of house, etc. as per Central Government orders.

Application fees: Rs. 250/- each is to be paid in the form of a Demand Draft to be issued in favour of “DIRECTOR, NORTH EASTERN SPACE APPLICATIONS CENTRE” payable at State Bank of India, Umiam Branch [Branch Code No.2010]. All women candidates/Scheduled Castes (SC)/Scheduled Tribes (ST),Ex-serviceman (EX) and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PWBD) candidates are exempted from payment of Application Fee.

Selection Process: The qualification prescribed is the minimum requirement and possession of the same does not automatically make the candidates eligible to be called for interview. A duly constituted Screening Committee shall screen the applications received for the posts based on the given eligibility criteria and may fix criteria as it may consider necessary for shortlisting the candidates for interview. In case candidate is claiming equivalent specialization, he/she has to obtain certificate from his/her institute/university stating that the specialization is equivalent to the one asked in the advertisement for the post applied for. Final decision on this will be taken by the Screening Committee. The screenedin/shortlisted candidates will be called for interview before the Selection Committee. Communication shall be sent only to the screened-in/shortlisted candidates. NESAC will not entertain any correspondence on the issue of short-listing of candidates.
