ICRISAT seeks applications from Indian Nationals for the post of Research Associate – Agrometeorology/Agronomy position of Innovation Systems for the Drylands program to be based at ICRISAT – Patancheru, India.

Essential criteria
:PhD in Agrometeorology, crop science or related discipline.Good understanding of climate information in general and its role in planning and managing agricultural systems. 

Analytical skills to conduct QA/QC tests and quantify trends in variability using long-term climate data. Demonstrated ability to plan and implement field experiments. Good publication record, as evidenced by research papers in refereed journals.

Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams involving range of stakeholders.Ability and willingness to participate in field work and travel extensively in India.Good written and oral communications skills in English.

Desirable Criteria: Agronomic knowledge of major dryland crops and cropping systems in India. Good understanding of climate and weather forecasts and weather based agro-advisory services. Working knowledge of farming system models such as APSIM or DSSAT.
