The syllabus for this exam was focused on core architectural drafting skills and related civil/structural engineering principles. The exam was designed to test both practical drafting knowledge and theoretical concepts.

1. Architectural Drawing and Drafting

• Types of architectural drawings (plan, elevation, section)

• Principles of dimensioning and scaling

• Symbols used in architectural plans (doors, windows, materials)

• Rendering techniques for presentations

• Orthographic and isometric projections

2. Building Construction

• Types of foundations and their uses

• Brick and stone masonry

• Roofs and floors: types and construction

• Doors, windows, and staircases: classifications and standards

• Damp proofing, plastering, and finishing

3. Building Materials

• Properties and uses of cement, lime, bricks, timber, and concrete

• New construction materials (glass, aluminum, polymer, etc.)

• Paints, varnishes, and surface finishes

4. Civil Engineering Basics

• Surveying tools and methods

• Levelling, contouring, and chain surveying

• Setting out of buildings

• Basic structural elements – beam, column, slab

• Estimation and costing basics

5. CAD and Drafting Software (Introductory Level)

• Introduction to AutoCAD for 2D drafting

• Layers, blocks, line types, and text tools

• Plotting and printing techniques

• Knowledge of drawing file formats

6. General Knowledge & Current Affairs

• History and geography of Kerala

• Indian constitution and governance

• Recent developments in construction technology

• General science and public health

• Current affairs at state and national levels
